Boss Battle Research

For my boss battle I am drawing a lot of inspiration from the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds.

The on battle that caught my attention was the second boss battle in A Link Between Worlds Margomill. What makes this boss battle interesting is that over time Margomill will grow and inorder to bring him back to his normal size you have to knock out his other layers








For my idea, I would use the Ghost like enemies from the earlier part of the game and start out with one.

The Ghost will swing around a large scythe and once hit a few times he will then multiply.

He will multiply 3 times

The player must beat all three to win.

battle Arena Ideas




The idea I had was a off road "mudding" kinda theme. The track would be a dirt track that goes around in circle with 4 or more weapon pick ups on the ground. There would be a slight wall ramp with a couple weapon pick up as well.

My selling point for this track would be this large barrel on a wooden platform that once the match is down to two players on 4 player mode and 6 players on 16 player mode it shoot out giant mud balls.

Attract Video Research



I felt that this was a pretty good attract video, it set the theme of the game well by showing off the environment the race was taking place in. It also displayed how the movement of the cars was like once the game was actually started.
There was only a few things that were an issue for me. It sped through the landscape pretty quickly, I had to watch this a couples times to see where the race was taking place.
Also the choice of music seemed a little weird, for me I would have like something a little more upbeat. Something that would make me want to play this game all the time.

FlameThrower Particle Research

I am researching how to create a flame particle that is to be used for a flamethrower.
The emitter that I plan to use are
- sprite emitter
-ribbon emitter
-light emitter

Race PrePro Brainstorming

I had a couple of ideas, the one I liked the best was this dragon themed level. It would look like a Japanese dragon and most of the race would take place inside of the dragon.

 The image up top shows the starting half of the track which is labeled 1 in the image. 2 is showing that the racers will enter a tube area which will be the inside of the dragon.

 The next image shows a smashing block obstacle, haven't decided if this will take place in or outside of the dragon.


This last image is a shooting spike obstacle. this will take place inside of the dragon and there will be several areas like this with amped up difficult as the racers progress.

I had a few color schemes. either going reds and greens or reds and greys

Platformer Assignment Gem Hunt!


Programming Spikey Block Assigment



This assignment was definitely a challenge for me or at least the second half of the assignment. Even at this point have I tested all of my coding and its not quite working they way it's suppose to be working even though I have everything hooked up the way it should be.

Even with the struggles of this assignment I got a lot out of it and it was a lot of fun.

Platformer Analysis

The game I will be analyzing is a game called parasite. The tutorial level is pretty straight forward, the player uses the the arrow keys to move around and jump. Which was not stated by the game it's self so that is something the player must figure out, which is not bad. Every time something new would appear a speech bubble would pop up next to the character as if the character is the one explaining what do to. The overall flow of the game is nice the player has to get the character to a get point to continue moving forward and the goal to find 3 checks points to finish the level. To make the level a bit more challenging the game threw in some enemies that need to be avoided. What I found interesting about the enemies is that not only are they bad for the character to touch, they are actually needed to get to the end of the level.
